In the seventy-five years since its independence, India and its people have achieved considerable development. There are now more literate people. The health of Indians has improved, and they now have longer life expectancies at birth. Additionally, there are now half as many individuals living below the poverty level. However, when India is contrasted with the East Asian Tigers and China, the tale loses some of its lustre. While it appears excellent, it is not sufficient. India appears to be far from the greatness it longs for. The primary focus of this book is on this problem. It seeks to make an argument for why India couldn't do more and what else it could have. It depicts a potential future for it and underlines the issues that require immediate address.
