Elizabeth Bennet dismisses Fitzwilliam Darcy as a haughty and pompous guy when they first meet at a ball. She hears him dismiss the mere notion of inviting her to dance in addition to his annoying snobbery! Darcy starts to be drawn to Elizabeth's wit and intelligence as life continually puts them against one another, and Elizabeth starts to doubt her love for Darcy. But after Lydia, Elizabeth's youngest sister, is saved by Darcy from a scandal, Elizabeth begins to question whether her pride has clouded her judgement of Darcy.
