Basic Science is a middle-school series for CBSE schools. Wherever possible the text has been developed around simple activities that the learners can easily perform on their own. Most activities are supported by colour photographs or a sequence of photographs. Sketches and photographs of things like flower parts are given side by side so that children can compare and learn. The exercises at the end of each chapter have different types of questions. The exercises, the additional exploratory material at the end of many chapters and the suggested activities meet the requirements of CCE.
