This is the last novel of Rangeya Raghav among his social novels. It depicts the changing rural life after independence. There are many incidents related to factionalism, litigation, corruption and politics in rural life, which have been presented in great detail and in an interesting manner. Many critics have also linked this novel to the tradition of Premchand. Hirde Ram is the main influential character who represents rural life. Govind is a person of bad character. Among the female characters, Nihal Kaur is a shameless, characterless girl. Champa and Chameli are also like this, who are very aggressive while making physical relations. The dialogues are in a satirical style. But the writing maturity of this novel is unmatched in itself.
