She lost her beloved father, but she also lost the inheritance he had given her, including a wealthy fiance and control of the estate and castle. She comes up with a bold scheme to secure the Device of Time Journeying she heard about in one of her father's books and prevent her father's passing when she has nothing left in the world to sustain her but her wits and resolve. One of the Heroes of the Lance, Tasselhoff Burrfoot, a free-spirited kender, was the device's last known bearer. But when Destina arrives in Solace, which is also the home of fellow heroes Caramon and Tika Majere, she starts a series of deadly events that are even more dangerous than she could have ever imagined. These events could alter not only her own history but also the course of the entire world, allowing a previously defeated evil to regain control.
