In the distant past, the Kalikshetra Kalighat region was considered separate from Kolkata. Gradually, through administrative changes, this area became part of Kolkata. But Kalighat does not only mean the Kali temple, but this region is very important in many ways. From the perspective of regional history, an analytical discussion has been made about the Kali temple and the adjacent areas in the present book.
