Kashinath is an interesting work by Sharatchandra Chattopadhyay. It is the story of the conflict that occurs after the marriage of a poor boy and a rich landlord's daughter. Sharatchandra Chattopadhyay started writing in his childhood and he wrote two stories like Koral and Kashinath at that time. But while reading Kashinath, one feels that it is not a work written in childhood but in maturity. It describes the life of the village people, their struggles and the difficulties they face and also gives a glimpse of the social life of the then Bengal.
