The writer traveled to Mulluk, a hill-dune-jhanti forest inhabited by the Jharkhand border plateau in the western edge of Bengal, on the basis of his bank job. On the one hand, the mesmerizing form of natural splendor, on the other hand, the simple life of the aboriginals, who are suffering from extreme poverty and socially humiliated, reveals a different vision of life in the mind of the author. An extreme quest, like the arti of a distraught yearning mind, is embodied in the tribal melody: Manhoo janam aha jhinga phule kali saanjhe futye morning malin.
