Khurram and Mumtaj, met first time in the nauroj festival.Her beauty attracted Khurram so much that he ordered Khwajasara, to make her present in the royal Harem.They started meeting regularly after that.When Jahangir knew that he called on Khurram.Khwajasara told Jahangir, everything about the meetings of Khurram and Arjumand.When Khurram gave his acceptance about marriage with Arjumand,he betrothed both of them in the year 1607. Now the new drama started in the family.Jahangir wanted to marry with Nurjahan,the widow of Sher Afgan and daughter of Itimadudaula.But she was not ready to marry with the mughal emperor Jahangir.Arjumand(Mumtaj) was the niece of Nurjahan.Jahangir now stopped the marriage between Khurram and Arjumand .Khurram was married to the Safavid princes to threaten Nurjahan and his brother Asaf Khan .Asaf Khan was the father of Arjumand.After many tactics applied by Jahangir,Nurjahan became ready to marry with Jahangir.Now that after about 4 years Khurram and Arjumand married.
