In June 1997, the first edition of Orthodontics: The Art and Science was published. The desire of the graduating dentists to learn more about orthodontics and the dearth of an all-inclusive book served as the inspiration for me to write the first version of this textbook on orthodontics. The first edition's popularity and the positive reception it received gave us the inspiration to produce more. The current eighth edition was released in this book's 25th year of publication. Today, dentists and graduate students all over the world use the book.
