Although Jacob and Fox were unable to locate Will, they did discover something even more unexpected in the Mirrorworld: happiness. Will shows up just as they decide to stop looking and start enjoying their new life together. Jacob is unsure whether he can trust his own brother at this point. Will is on his trip to Nihon, a lovely country of sea serpents and samurai, talking woodlands and exquisite foxes, while travelling with Jacob and Fox's dangerous adversaries, in search of another enchanted Mirror. The two can only adhere. If they're lucky, what they discover might be able to save them.
