The change of the river changes the cultures. Vihangam is a small attempt to understand this change. The stories spread on the Gangapath are the story of the formation of a river culture. The movement of Varaha, the footprints of the displaced people on the Saraswati banks and the testimony of Akshay Vat, are the stories of Kumbh and Sanatan becoming huge. These stories also include the canals flowing along with the Ganga. They have their own sociology and economics. The stories of these canals are also not very different from Bhagiratha's efforts. This book is an attempt to see the geography of the river and to pass through the streets of the cultural history of this geography.
