Two feeble people. A last-ditch effort Adrienne Willis needs some time to think about her life after her husband leaves her for a younger lady. Adrienne is feeling distraught and abandoned. She takes the chance to run her friend's inn in Rodanthe, a coastal town in North Carolina, as she runs away from everything. Adrienne, however, is going to go through a tempest in more ways than she can imagine. As the weather gets worse, Adrienne is stuck and alone herself. Paul Flanner, a man running from his own broken past, is the only person to visit her. When looking for safety, Paul and Adrienne have no choice but to rely on one another. In spite of all odds, they experience feelings during one weekend that last a lifetime.
