Web pages of organizations began their journey as a simple information sharing platform for the stakeholders using simple technologies such as HTML, CSS, URL and HTTP. These four are called Web 1.0 technologies. This book begins with HTML and CSS and explains how a web page can be designed with the simple features such as hypertext, background colors, designs, styles, ordered and unordered list. The subject has been presented in a simple lucid style with real-life examples. The next evolution of web pages, in Web 2.0 is on the data collection features, such as online application, online feedback etc. The HTML Forms with buttons, text field, text area, list box and choice boxes are presented with interesting and simple examples. The forms are validated for the right group of data using JavaScript. So, JavaScript is presented with appropriate applications. The backend processing is done by Java Server Pages (JSP) that uses JDBC. Simple student projects are presented with full design and code to elaborately explain the use of JSP. The Whole of JSP is explained and illustrated using simple project works. JSP is used with Java Data Base Connectivity (JDBC) for accessing databases.
