The text "A Text Book on Plant Breeding" is intended for graduate courses in agriculture, botany, zoology, and life sciences that include a plant breeding paper. The thirty chapters of the book, which are divided into seven sections, cover a variety of aspects of plant breeding. These sections are General Considerations, Creation of Variation, Selection in Crop Improvement, Specialized Breeding Approaches, Evaluation and Multiplication, Miscellaneous Considerations, and Breeding of Specific Crops. Several appendices and a glossary of pertinent technical words are included at the end of the book. The text was written in straightforward English in the same manner that I instructed my students. Every effort has been made to retain readability and promote simple comprehension. The concepts have been described with the aid of suitable diagrams.
