Kaberi Roychowdhury

Kaberi Roy Choudhury was born on February 23, 1972 in a middle-class aristocratic family in Kolkata. The loneliness of the single family influenced her thinking! As a teenager, when peers were busy with sports, Kaberi penned the events happening around her. Loneliness made her a a lover of nature and animals unknowingly! In her pen, nature, animals, the extreme naked truth of deprived people in the society have come up. The story of love and lovelessness has made people think! Although she wrote in private, she had no desire to become a writer. Therefore, despite the late publication of her writings, she quickly won the hearts of readers and critics. She made her debut in 2000 by writing an article in a first class daily newspaper. In 2005, the first novel "Dhusar danar kahini " and poetry book "Garbhadhan Kavyaktha" was published by a first class publishing house. She published 31 novels, 4 collections of stories, and 2 books of poetry. Her sensational novel "Thakurbarir Sarada sundori" based on Tagore's mother Sarada Sundari and the then society and family is the subject of this novel which is the first research written in Bengali literature! Her novels have been translated into Hindi and English. Kaberi has received awards from various states for her literary work. Honored by Mahadevi Varma Memorial Award, Leela Majumdar Memorial Award, Shailjananda Memorial Award, Most Promising Writer Award, Tagore Art and Culture (Bhupal). She is associated with various social works. She works for the rights of orphan children, stray animals. Her hobbies are traveling alone, music, gardening etc.
