The book is designed to serve as a basic text for students of physics at the graduate and postgraduate levels. It presents a coherent, comprehensive account of the fundamentals of electromagnetic theory. The primary concern of the book is to enable the student to obtain a satisfactory intuitive grasp of the subject, to make him realise that the subject is relevant and useful and to encourage him to develop some facilities in its use. The book bridges the gap between highly mathematical works and the very elementary introductions of the subject.
