Appropriate post-harvest management and value addition to agricultural goods, in the catchments where they are produced, will create jobs and revenue in the rural sector and reduce harvested biomass losses. The cost of the finished product is fixed by the use of appropriate technology, which also makes the business viable. It has been noted that food products are prepared using foreign agroprocessing equipment or its imitations. Actually, the working of these machines should be critically studied in context of the energy input and the quality of the finished product."
