With his thirty fifth birthday coming up soon, Adam has lost all hope in himself and cannot see the point in continuing to live his miserable existence. This is where Christine interferes and tries to dissuade him from killing himself. As part of her persuasive efforts, Christine goes on to make a crazy wager with Adam. She places a bet that she can show him the purpose of life before his birthday. With time playing against her, Christine is now on a mission to prove her newfound friend wrong and make him fall in love with life all over again.
