For at least 20 years, the writings of Dalit authors have offered a significant challenge to the positioning and perception of mainstream literature. This collection of short stories, written completely by Tamil Dalit authors, raises a powerful regional voice against the prejudice and gradated inequality that are particular to caste-bound India in this context.
