This novel, along with an interesting story, on one hand introduces us to the glorious past of Indian culture and tradition, while on the other hand it also gives a hint of caution in the future due to the inconsistent decisions of politics. In a nutshell, Jagriti is Guru Dutt's best novel in which the conflict between two Jat families and the pathetic condition of women as a result of it has been poignantly depicted. Guru Dutt's readers will never be able to forget this novel after reading it once. This novel in itself is amazing and presents unique pages of history.
