About the Author Masahiko Togawa is a professor of cultural anthropology at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), Japan's Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa (ILCAA). He has written numerous books and articles on religion and society in Bangladesh and West Bengal. An Abode of the Goddess: Kingship, Caste, and Sacrificial Organization in a Bengal Village, which he wrote and co-edited, was published by him in 2006.
