Lark Winters aspires to be a writer, so for the time being, she posts whatever she feels like on social media to develop her profile. Lark's tweets become the talk of the school when her ex-best buddy Kasim unintentionally publishes a thread on her Twitter expressing his love for a hidden, unrequited crush. Lark decides to assume responsibility by claiming they unintentionally posted the thread in relation to another student in order to shield Kasim. Lark finally summons the confidence to approach their crush, Kasim maintains his privacy, and Lark's social media stats soar. But telling lie takes a toll - as does the judgement of thousands of Internet strangers. Lark tries their best to be perfect at all costs, but nothing seems good enough for the anonymous hordes - or for Kasim, who is growing closer to Lark, just like it used to be between them . . . In the end, Lark must embrace their right to their messy emotions and learn how to be in love.
