Jessica is thrilled to accept Grady's invitation to stay with his family in a beachside New York bungalow for a few days. She prepares to spend some quality time with Grady, his wife Donna, and their small son Frank by packing her bags and travelling to the city. Jessica's hopes of a tranquil visit are dashed when Donna discovers her boss dead on a tennis court the morning after she arrives. Everyone in the little beachfront hamlet is a suspect, and the local law enforcement, which is led by a former coworker of Cabot Cove sheriff Mort Metzger, has ordered everyone to stay put.
