He also made an irrevocable mark on the history of South Asia. His views impacted the political landscape of the nation as India's first and longest-serving prime minister and a key figure in the nationalist movement, leaving such a lasting impression that his legacy is still hotly contested today. Nehru was many different things to many people both in life and in death. This book analyses four interactions that Nehru had with contemporaries from across the political spectrum, including Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Sardar Patel, and Syama Prasad Mookerjee, going beyond the forced categories of contemporary discourse.
