The author feels great pleasure to proclaim that he served the Government of India at different posts including teaching Civil Engineering Subjects for over thirty seven years and this well accepted treatise "Objective type and conventional solved questions with synopses of Civil Engineering has served candidates of UPSC Engineering Services Examinations/GATE and other important examinations for about thirty eight years whose first edition was published in 1979, the year UPSC adopted the pattern of examinations through Multiple Objective Type Questions. Addition of new chapters, Engineering Geology, Hydrology Water Resource Engineering and Indian Environmental Law have been added according to the latest types of questions being asked and also added some questions of relevant matter in every chapter. The latest questions of UPSC Engineering Services /GATE have been added for the guidance of the candidates. Answers of the questions of each chapter have been given at the end of each chapter.
