It is a great pleasure to present practical Biology to the students of Class IX and their Biology teachers. The book is written strictly in accordance with the latest ICSE Biology syllabus. The favourable response to the earlier editions has encouraged me to thoroughly revise and improve this edition to meet the requirements of both students and teachers more effectively. The first two chapters are introductory in nature and the students must study them before starting their Biology experiments in regular classes. Towards the end of the book five appendices have been given, which would assist them in preparing various reagents, fixatives and stains, collection of plants and animals and learning the names of some common animals and plants.
