Old Babushka, well-known across Moskva for her exquisitely decorated eggs, is preparing for the Easter Festival when she takes in an injured goose. They live peacefully together until one day, when Rechenka accidently overturns a basket, destroying all of Babushka's meticulously made eggs. The next morning, though, Babushka finds a surprise in the basket. "A miracle!" she exclaims. It's one of many in this endearing story of friendship and compassion.
