Alan Henry has been writing for magazines like Lifehacker, The New York Times, and Wired on how to use technology and productivity strategies to work and live better for more than twenty years. But he discovered that, as a Black guy, he was excluded from some of the more effective strategies for getting a job, such as setting out time on your calendar for deep work and only checking your email once per day. In reality, he discovered that there were times when he was still passed over for the most intriguing and career-advancing work, even after earning a coveted post at the Times. As a result, he wrote a Times article titled "Productivity Without Privilege" in which he first discussed these issues. He now conducts expert interviews to delve much farther.
