Rajgopal Singh Verma?s book Senapati is the story of this unique French warrior. Born in Savoy, Boyne fought wars for many countries and eventually became the general of Maharaja Mahadji Scindia. He prepared the most capable army of Hindustan, due to which Mahadji could become the destiny maker of Delhi. Boyan was an invincible general and a man of principles. After fighting in the French, Irish Brigade and Russian army, he turned towards Hindustan. On his return to France he received an invitation from Napoleon Bonaparte, but after giving up arms Boyan never picked up a sword again.
