Princess Lara, who was raised as a warrior, is aware of two things: She is at odds with the Bridge Kingdom's King Aren. He must be brought to his knees by her, thus she must do it. The Bridge Kingdom, which controls the sole passage through a planet devastated by storms, uses its influence to deny Lara's home country of essential resources. Lara will therefore go to any lengths, even seducing her new spouse, to undermine the kingdom's defences when she is chosen to be King Aren's bride. Lara's feelings for Aren, however, change from animosity to passion as she learns more about the conflict to control the bridge. She also has an awful choice to make: Which kingdom should be saved, and which should be destroyed?
