The author of The Things That Nobody Knows presents a wonderful and amusing treasure trove of completely pointless knowledge. Encyclopaedias in general are dull. They are so jam-packed with worthwhile but uninteresting facts that a lot of strange and interesting information is left behind. The Encyclopaedia of Everything Else takes the opposite tack and omits all the dull information that is readily available elsewhere. The end product is the most intriguing, astounding, diverse, and completely pointless collection of knowledge ever put together and arranged between two covers. This is a quarter of a million words of magnificent pointlessness, ranging from aardvark tooth jewellery to the genus of tropical weevils known as Zyzzyva, via Mark Twain's opinions on cabbages.
