The poems, books, short tales, plays, paintings, drawings, and music that Bengali poet and Brahmo philosopher Rabindranath Tagore produced throughout his career are included in the collection known as The Works of Rabindranath Tagore. Regard for Tagore's poetry has a disproportionately large impact on his literary reputation; yet, he also produced thousands of songs, as well as novels, essays, short tales, travelogues, and dramas. The short stories that Tagore wrote are among his best-known works of prose; in fact, he is credited with creating the Bengali language version of the genre. His writings are typically praised for their lyrical, upbeat, and rhythmic qualities. However, the lives of common people serve as the source material for the majority of these stories.
