Jhalkari Bai was raised at Bhojla, which is a great distance from Jhansi. She had a strong ambition to be a soldier and perform heroic deeds. After the events of 1857, Jhansi engaged in combat with the British, and Jhalkari Bai played a significant role in Rani Laxmibai's fighting army. She had no experience with fear and led the women's division of the army in Jhansi. When the queen had to leave Jhansi, Jhalkari Bai was the one who assisted her by using her incredible fighting abilities and a final act of bravery.
