Would you be willing to wed a stranger? In 1918, three Korean women embark on a journey that would change their lives in order to wed there after only having seen photographs of their future husbands. Each of these women will have a different outcome. Song-hwa meets a lethargic alcoholic while Hong-ju meets a man who appears twenty years older than the man in his photograph while Hong-ju dreams of a marriage based on "natural love." Song-hwa wants to leave her life of being teased for being the granddaughter of a shaman. Then there's Willow, whose 26-year-old husband Taewan resembles him exactly. Although reality doesn't always seem like a picture, there is no turning back. Even for Willow, things don't turn out exactly as they had imagined, but they do discover something that makes the voyage worthwhile.
