Caste, one of the oldest forms of exclusion in existence, is still active. Even though untouchability was outlawed 70 years ago, caste still affects 1.9 billion people worldwide. There is a crime committed against a Dalit person every 15 minutes. For Dalit women, the average death age is just 39. The ruins of caste are duplicated here in the United States as well; they manifest themselves at work, explode online with rape and death threats, and force countless Dalits to live in constant terror of being exposed.
