The writing of this book was a transformative experience for us since it allowed us to see how microbiology may be altered to meet the needs of an Indian medical graduate. The content of the book was modified from the traditional organism-based teaching to system-based teaching, and it was prepared in accordance with the new MBBS curriculum. Parasitology topics have been updated as per the current needs of Indian Medical Graduates, under the respective infective syndromes, thereby eliminating the reading of a separate parasitology book. The text has been condensed while considering the viewpoint of an Indian medical graduate. The book can be divided into two halves, each of which has eleven sections.
